Government aims to reverse Lords’ amendment to Brexit bill on Monday

    Publications

The House of Commons has cleared time on Monday 13 March for MPs to debate the amendments made by the House of Lords to its Brexit bill.

Ministers hope to overturn peers’ call for a “meaningful” parliamentary vote on the final terms of the Brexit deal Theresa May secures on UK’s withdrawal from the EU [link to Wednesday’s first blog below], as well as the Lords’ defeat on the issue of guaranteeing the rights of EU citizens currently living in the UK being once Britain formally leaves the EU.
