    Theresa May tells UN the UK won't turn inwards after Brexit

    In her first address to the UN General Assembly in New York on September 20,2016, the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, said the UK would not turn away from the world and would remain at the heart of international affairs. May also pledged hundreds of millions of pounds in aid spending to tackle terrorism and to stop hundreds of thousands of migrants travelling to Europe. She announced that hundreds of British troops will be sent to Somalia to help combat al-Shabaab jihadists.
