Sadiq Kahn, the London mayor, has stated that plans for an individual London deal on immigration are being discussed with City Hall planning to create a separate work permit system for London following Brexit. In an interview with Sky News (click here) Mr Kahn confirmed that a group of business representatives were “ working on a model that will ensure we can carry on recruiting and attracting talent” after concerns that Brexit may result in an exodus of works and businesses from the capital stating “we are talking to business leaders, businesses, business representatives to see what we can do to make sure London doesn’t lose out on the talent, the innovation the partnership that has let us be the greatest City in the world.” He also confirmed that he is due to meet the Prime Minster to lobby for London’s interests in any Brexit deal.
