Bilal Zaheer (Chicago) has been selected for the Chicago Committee’s inaugural “Rate My Pitch” program. The pilot program is a three-evening series that will provide instruction and experiential learning for approximately 20 member firm associates who have practiced between four and seven years. The learning plan includes five real life scenarios associates might encounter: taking a partner or practice leader to lunch with an identified objective; transforming a college or high school friendship into a business relationship; taking advantage of an ad hoc encounter with an existing firm client to market oneself; a “cold call” on a business acquaintance introduced by a mutual friend; and making a formal business pitch as part of a group in response to an RFP.
Selection to the program was highly competitive. Bilal will be among a well-rounded group of attorneys that is demographically diverse as well as diverse in their experience, firm size, and practice group. Bilal has been active on the Associate Board as both member and chair. In 1987, Edwards Wildman was a founding firm member of the Chicago Committee, which seeks racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession through professional development, networking, and leadership opportunities.
