Antitrust Lessons From Interplay Of Hospitals, Doc Groups

    Outside Publication
Steve Murphy, a partner in the Firm's Antitrust practice in Washington, DC, wrote an article about how administrators of hospitals and medical specialty groups have much to learn from recent cases brought by the federal antitrust regulators and private parties claiming violations of the Sherman and Clayton Acts in Law360. In the article, "Antitrust Lessons From Interplay Of Hospitals, Doc Groups," the authors analyze some of the antitrust risk resulting from the interplay of hospitals and medical specialty groups and note that in the merger/acquisition arena, careful analysis of antitrust issues should inform the parties about the prospect for local complaints from employers and local health insurers.
