The University of Connecticut Law School Alumni Association will honor Hartford’s Alex Cavaliere with the Graduates of the Last Decade Impact Award for her service to the law school, legal profession, community and, in particular, for her fierce advocacy of ALS patients’ access to funding and treatments. The awards will be presented at a virtual ceremony on October 26.
Earlier this year, Cavaliere bravely shared the story of her ALS diagnosis with The American Lawyer in order to raise awareness and show that lawyers with ALS or other disabilities can continue working. Read more here.
Alex’s honor was also featured in the Connecticut Law Tribune (subscription may be required).
Hartford Partner and Alumni Association President Tara Trifon noted the rich tradition and strong community aspect of the annual awards dinner. “Not only is the event an opportunity for fellow alumni to connect — even if we have to do it virtually — but it offers us a chance to honor some of the incredible graduates from our alma mater,” she added.
Cavaliere focuses her practice on general corporate, regulatory and transactional insurance matters and counsels clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, minority investments and private investment funds.
