(LOS ANGELES) March 6, 2018 – Locke Lord Los Angeles Partner Phillip Hosp has been appointed by Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pasadena Center Operating Company (PCOC).
The PCOC is a nonprofit corporation formed by the City of Pasadena to manage the Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau and Pasadena Ice Skating Center. As part of the 15-member Board of Directors, Hosp will work with representatives of major hotels and others to further the PCOC’s mission of promoting Pasadena as a year-round destination of choice for meetings, entertainment and travel.
Hosp’s practice focuses on securities and real estate. He represents clients in SEC investigations, mergers and acquisitions litigation and other matters involving securities and corporate law claims. He also advises clients in legal disputes involving real estate and real estate transactions, including real estate investments and financings, commercial leases and related agreements, purchase/sale contracts and lien sales. Since 2014, he has been named a Rising Star in Southern California by Super Lawyers magazine.
Lawyers in the Firm’s Los Angeles office play a vital role in the community in which they live and work, including sitting on local boards, working with community-based programs and supporting education, health and welfare, arts, children’s and faith-based organizations. Hosp is an active member of the Los Angeles community, serving as a volunteer to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and supporting alumni activities at Loyola High School of Los Angeles.
Hosp is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as an Armor Officer in the 3rd Infantry Division and achieved the rank of Captain. During one of his two tours in Iraq, he was awarded the Bronze Star for leadership in combat and tactical guidance during an IED attack. Hosp also received the Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Action Badge.
