January 8, 2018 – C. Brian Cassidy, Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Austin office and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Administrative and Regulatory Practice Group, has been selected as Chair-Elect of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. He will serve as Chair of the Board beginning January 2019.
An active business leader in Central Texas for several years, Cassidy is deeply involved in the Austin Chamber. He previously served as a board member and as general counsel. He has also served as a member of its Finance and Transportation Committees.
Cassidy is also widely recognized for his leadership surrounding transportation and infrastructure issues in Texas. He is a frequent speaker and writer on infrastructure issues and helped shape important transportation legislation in Texas. He focuses his practice on the development of transportation and utility infrastructure by public and private entities. Cassidy advises clients on complex procurements, public private partnerships, regulatory compliance, and all aspects of the planning, design, financing, operation and approvals required for major infrastructure projects. He has been involved in the development of toll roads and non-tolled highways throughout Texas.
Cassidy is a past Chair and remains a current board and executive committee member of the Real Estate Council of Austin, an association of more than 2,000 commercial real estate leaders. He is also a member of the Austin Area Research Organization.
The Austin Chamber is the voice of business for 2,800 organizations representing a combined workforce of approximately 330,000 employees throughout Central Texas. Cassidy’s term as Chair will follow 2018 Chair of the Board Phil Wilson, General Manager at the Lower Colorado River Authority and former Texas Secretary of State.
