August 16, 2017 – Matt McTygue, Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Boston office, has been appointed to serve as a member of the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Council for a three-year term. The Council is a 34-member governing body that sets policy for the BBA.
McTygue is actively involved in the BBA, most recently serving as Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Section and on the Beacon Award Selection Committee. He is also a member of numerous BBA committees, including the Nominating Committee and the Law Day, Summer Jobs and Justice is Sweet Steering Committees.
Practicing in private equity and commercial finance law, McTygue has extensive experience representing private equity and venture capital firms, investors, commercial lenders and private companies in a broad range of business and financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings, senior, subordinated and venture debt financings, restructurings and recapitalizations and general corporate matters. McTygue works with companies, investors and lenders in a variety of industries, including energy, health care, life sciences and technology, media and telecommunications.
McTygue is involved with numerous organizations throughout the Greater Boston area. He serves on the Board of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Attorney General’s Office/Chamber Student Debt Working Group. He is a Fellow of the Boston Bar Foundation and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and a member of the Massachusetts Senate President’s LGBT Advisory Committee.
