(DALLAS) April 14, 2016 – Dallas Partner Jennifer Kinney Parnell has been selected as one of the recipients of the Texas Most Powerful & Influential Woman Award by the National Diversity Council during its 12th Annual Texas Diversity and Leadership Conference. Parnell was recognized for her achievement in leadership excellence and accomplishments within the legal sector, as well as her commitment to her community.
The award honors women who have attained personal success within their field and helped pave the way for future female leaders. It is researched and chosen by a state committee and was presented at the conference in Houston today.
Parnell has a decade of experience in the areas of commercial and consumer litigation, representing clients throughout state and federal courts in Texas. She provides counsel to clients on a wide variety of matters, including insurance claims, contract claims, and mortgage and lending matters. Since 2012, Super Lawyers magazine has identified Parnell as a “Texas Rising Star” in business litigation.
Parnell is active in the Dallas community as a member of the Junior League of Dallas, the J.L. Turner Legal Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. She currently serves on the board of directors for The Family Place and the advisory board for the Aberg Center for Literacy.
Before beginning her career at Locke Lord, Parnell obtained her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and her law degree from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law.
