Art Anthony, a Litigation Partner in Locke Lord’s Dallas office, was recently recognized as a Finalist for the Texas Minority Counsel Program’s (TMCP) “2015 Trailblazer Outside Counsel of the Year Award.” Anthony was one of three finalists from across the state recognized for this award by the TMCP on October 16 for his overall commitment to the promotion of diversity within the legal profession.
Anthony, who serves as Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Pro Bono Services Committee and who has been a member of the Firm's Board of Directors since 2011, has a longstanding commitment to diversity and the Dallas community. He was named a 2015 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, and remains a Fellow of both the Dallas and Texas Bar Foundations. He has had his work recognized by the J.L. Turner Legal Association, the African-American Bar Association in Dallas. He is also a participant in the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program.
His litigation practice focuses on consumer finance, banking and financial services matters, as well as construction litigation. Anthony has represented commercial institutions, investment banks and mortgage servicers in mortgage securitization, secured transactions, commercial loan and consumer litigation, including claims arising under the Fair Housing Act. He has also represented owners and contractors in state and federal court litigation involving construction negligence, acceleration and delay claims, and mechanic’s and materialman’s lien disputes.
