. The Women’s Center of Rhode Island has been providing residential and community based services to survivors of domestic violence since 1974. Their programs and services include shelter, case management, life skills coaching, parenting, counseling, advocacy, referrals, and support to help clients access education, employment, health and legal services, protective orders, and safe housing. In addition, hotline services are available 24 hours per day/seven days per week, and the Center provides educational and community outreach programs. The Women’s Center is one of six member agencies of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and is formally affiliated with Crossroads Rhode Island, the state’s leading provider of services to homeless people. This affiliation enables both organizations to address the connection between domestic violence and homelessness through collaboration.
