Edwards Wildman's West Palm Beach and Miami offices presented the Palm Beach County Food Bank with an unexpected donation this holiday season as part of the firm’s local philanthropy efforts. Attorneys and staff contributed $2,000 to support the non-profit organization, which collects and distributes food to local agencies at no cost to help feed the hungry in Palm Beach County.
Edwards Wildman’s South Florida offices select a different local charity each year and raises funds through a variety of in-office events, such as a regular series of "jeans days," in which employees can donate five dollars to wear jeans to work on designated Fridays. The charity is not aware of the donation until they are invited to a luncheon at Edwards Wildman in December for the presentation of the check.
Palm Beach County Food Bank is committed to aiding those agencies who take on the daily responsibility of serving the hungry and poor. In Palm Beach County, there are more than 100 agencies that feed tens of thousands of hungry children, families, and senior citizens. The Palm Beach County Food Bank collects and distributes food to food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters. Every dollar donated to the Palm Beach County Food Bank helps provide seven meals to men, women, and children facing hunger in the community.
