The Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) honored Matt McTygue, partner-in-charge of Edwards Wildman's Boston office, with the PIC Achiever Award at its annual meeting
. McTygue was recognized for his role as co-chair of the Boston Bar Association's (BBA) Summer Jobs Steering Committee, in which he led recruiting efforts at law firms and in-house legal departments around the city to hire Boston public high school students for a summer internship to place a record number of students in legal internships. As part of this initiative, McTygue penned an op-ed in the Boston Business Journal
encouraging firms to participate. The award ceremony was held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Auditorium on November 12 and was the first time that Martin J. Walsh addressed the gathering as Mayor of Boston. Massachusetts Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, Chancellor of UMass Boston J. Keith Motley, and Boston Public Schools Superintendent John McDonough delivered remarks as well.
