October 31, 2014 – For the second year in a row, the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) has presented Locke Lord with its “Gold Award” in recognition of the Firm’s strong and continued commitment to pro bono work. The Gold Award is one of the highest tiers of recognition DVAP bestows.
DVAP, a joint program of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, is dedicated to increasing and enhancing pro bono legal services to the poor in Dallas through the recruitment, training and support of volunteer attorneys. Locke Lord has provided services in all types of civil matters through the longtime partnership with DVAP.
“We have a very strong commitment to pro bono here at Locke Lord, so it is especially gratifying to receive an award recognizing that,” said Art Anthony, Dallas Partner and Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Pro Bono Committee. “Our close association and work with DVAP helps improve the lives of those Dallas citizens who otherwise would not be able to afford critical legal counsel. We are proud to be able to provide that service.”
Locke Lord has a Firm-wide dedication to give back to the communities it serves. The proactive Pro Bono Committee involves lawyers in each of the Firm’s 11 U.S. offices.
