Edwards Wildman’s Allison O'Neil Weighs In On SEC's Record Whistleblower Award in Law360

    News
Allison O’Neil, a partner in Edwards Wildman’s Litigation Department, discussed the significance of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission planning to award more than $30 million to a corporate whistleblower in Law360. In the article, "Lawyers Weigh In On SEC's Record Whistleblower Award," O'Neil said, "This record-breaking award will undoubtedly encourage future tipsters to come forward as soon as they are aware of fraud. Given the length of time it takes for a tip to turn into an enforcement action, it may not be the only large award we see in 2014. The momentum behind the Dodd-Frank whistleblower program is building. I am certain that we will see more large awards and enforcement actions as a result of tips in the months to come.”
