In the summer of 2014, the Boston office of Edwards Wildman hosted a former Marine Corps infantryman as an intern in its "Law Firm - Veteran Internship Program (L - VIP)", reported BBA Week. The article, "Edwards Wildman Program for Military Veterans in Civilian Workforce Comes to Boston," noted that the L – VIP is an initiative of the firm's ex-Service Men's and Women's Affinity Group, which is chaired by Bob McGowan, the firm’s Global Director of Finance & Accounting and former Army officer. The program is aimed to provide ex-service men and women the opportunity to develop marketable civilian job skills and make industry contacts through a paid work experience placement.
