July 7, 2014 - Locke Lord Partner Stuart Bumpas has been recognized by the Dallas Historical Society for his philanthropic work with the 2014 Award for Excellence. The award is given to an individual whose personal generosity has greatly benefited the Dallas community. It will be presented at the Awards for Excellence Luncheon on Nov. 20.
Bumpas, whose law practice focuses on employee benefits, tax and nonprofit organizations, has devoted countless hours of pro bono work over the years as legal counsel for, among others, the Dallas Museum of Art, the American Heart Association, the Hockaday School, and The Dallas Foundation. He not only is an active participant in the activities of these institutions, but commits himself to providing them with pro bono legal work and support.
Bumpas also has served on the Boards of the Dallas Museum of Art, Goodwill Industries, the Southwestern Medical Foundation and the Callier Center for Communication Disorders, as well as various advisory boards at Southern Methodist University.
“Stuart is richly deserving of this honor,” said Don Glendenning, Managing Partner of the Dallas office. “He always finds time for pro bono work and helping to better the Dallas community. He sets an extraordinary example for every one of us.”
