July 9, 2014 - Locke Lord Partner Philip G. Eisenberg has been appointed to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors of Harris County Dispute Resolution Center (DRC), a nonprofit corporation formed in 1980 that provides dispute resolution services to the entirety of Harris County. DRC conducted approximately 3,000 mediations in 2013 alone.
“The addition of such an experienced legal practitioner as Philip Eisenberg should prove to be invaluable to our Board over the next three years,” said current DRC Board Chairman, Jennifer Hasley. Eisenberg’s term on the board will run until June 2016.
In May, Eisenberg also was included on the Institute for Energy Law’s inaugural Energy Arbitrator List, made up of eligible individuals with substantial experience in the arbitration of energy disputes. He also serves on the Houston Bar Association’s Fee Dispute Resolution Committee and was recently appointed as the Chairman of a three-member panel resolving a binding fee dispute.
Eisenberg, who is based in Locke Lord’s Houston office, has almost 30 years of experience handling complex commercial and energy disputes, as well as restructuring and insolvency matters. He serves as the head of Locke Lord’s Houston Creditor’s Rights practice and as a leader in Locke Lord’s highly regarded Energy Practice Group.
“Philip has been directly involved in many well-known energy disputes, bankruptcies and arbitrations over several decades and has an uncanny knack for cutting through complex issues to bring them into plain focus,” said David Patton, Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Energy Practice Group.
