Locke Lord Client Carlson Closes Sale of TGI Fridays® Restaurants

    July 15, 2014 - Locke Lord client Carlson, a global hospitality and travel company, today closed the sale of TGI Fridays® Restaurants to Sentinel Capital Partners and TriArtisan Capital Partners.

    Headquartered in Minneapolis, Carlson operates in more than 150 countries and territories, and its brands employ more than 100,000 people. Carlson said the transaction will free up resources that the company can deploy to focus on and accelerate the growth of its hotel and travel businesses at a time when significant opportunities exist in these markets.

    According to a report of the transaction in The Wall Street Journal (5/20/2014) the estimated sale value was $800 million, including debt. The casual dining chain, which operates more than 900 restaurants in 60 countries, will continue operating under its existing management team.
