Locke Lord’s Energy Practice in Dallas Grows/Strengthens with the Addition of Jason Schumacher as Partner

    July 28, 2014 ­– Locke Lord LLP has added depth to its already strong energy team with the addition of  Jason Schumacher as Partner in the Corporate Department and Energy Practice Group. He will operate out of the Firm’s Dallas office. 

    Schumacher joins Locke Lord from Dentons’ Energy, Transportation and Infrastructure Practice Group.  Jason has documented and closed more than $4.5 billion in transactions and projects. His practice is based in Dallas and Houston and focuses primarily on serving clients in the energy industry and the oil and gas sector. He assists clients in major acquisitions and divestures, joint development projects, operational affairs, project development for energy facilities and financing arrangements for energy and oil and gas companies. His clients include private and publicly traded oil and gas companies, energy holding companies, and oil and gas service companies, as well as mineral interest owners, lenders, private equity firms, and other financial institutions.  He also serves as outside general counsel for oil and gas companies, and advises on a wide range of other matters including litigation, tax advice, corporate governance, and employment matters.

    Schumacher received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and a B.B.A. from Abilene Christian University. Jason started his career as an Associate at Patton Boggs in 2004 where he remained until 2011 when he moved to Dentons in Dallas.  Schumacher is serving his second term as the President of the Texas Energy Council, and he is a former Chair of the Energy Section of the Dallas Bar Association.
