Edwards Wildman's Jack Dearie Comments on the Reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act in Property Casualty 360

    News
Jack Dearie, a New York-based partner in Edwards Wildman's Insurance and Reinsurance Department, discussed how the insurance industry is following whether the Senate will reauthorize the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act for seven years in Property Casualty 360. In the article, "Senate to Take Up TRIA Bill Tomorrow," Dearie stated that the industry has concerns about the bill because it would increase the losses insurers must cover by $10 billion to $37.5 billion and would also increase the percentage insurers would have to pay for certain losses to 20% (from 15%).
