Edwards Wildman’s Paulette Brown Will Be the First Woman of Color to Serve as ABA President, Reports the ABA Journal

    News
Paulette Brown, a partner in Edwards Wildman's Labor & Employment practice and the firm's chief diversity officer, will serve a one-year term as president of the American Bar Association starting in August 2015 at the close of that year's annual meeting in Chicago, reported the ABA Journal. The article, "Paulette Brown Will Be the First Woman of Color to Serve as ABA President," noted that Brown gave a speech at her nomination, stating, "I know I have a unique responsibility. Whenever one is the first of anything, the expectations are a bit different. I am going to do my level best to live up to these heightened expectations because our association and its members deserve it—and more important, those who would see me as a role model deserve it."
