Edwards Wildman's Scott Wofsy Tells World Intellectual Property Review that Brian Murphy 'Has the Skills' to Sit on the PTAB

    News
The US Patent and Trial Appeal Board (PTAB) has hired Brian Murphy, an intellectual property partner at Edwards Wildman, as an administrative patent judge, reported World Intellectual Property Review. In the article, "PTAB Appoints Edwards Wildman Partner," Scott Wofsy, chair of Edwards Wildman's Intellectual Property Department, commented that Murphy is a "seasoned trial lawyer who for many years in private practice has handled jury and bench trials." Furthermore, Wofsy added, "Combining that with patent prosecution and counselling, you bring to the mix an uncommon set of skills – prosecutor, counsellor and litigator. With those you have what it takes to sit on the PTAB."
