Edwards Wildman's John Whitlock Discusses How JeffCo Could Miss Its Deadline to Exit Bankruptcy by End of Year in Birmingham News

    News Release
John Whitlock, a Boston-based partner in Edwards Wildman's Restructuring and Insolvency practice, commented on how Jefferson County may face missing a deadline to exit bankruptcy by the end of the year, reported Birmingham News. In the article, "How Troubled Jeffco Could Miss Its Deadline to Exit Bankruptcy by End of Year," Whitlock said, "In order for the plan to be confirmed it must be feasible, that is, the county must be able to issue the amount of debt that was proposed. What the county and its counsel are saying to the creditors is that the creditors need to grant additional concessions or the plan can't be confirmed because it is not feasible."
