Edwards Wildman's Heather Stone Comments on Operators Seeking Pay Balance with Dealmakers in PE Manager

    News
Heather Stone, a Boston-based partner and chair of the Fund Formation Practice at Edwards Wildman, analyzed the differences between dealmakers and operators in the private equity industry in PE Manager. In the article, "Operators Seek Pay Balance with Dealmakers," Stone said that climbing the firm's ranks can take longer as an operator than a dealmaker. According to Stone, achieving an executive role entitled to carry within a deal team could take as little as six years post-MBA, but the same position within an operating team that has less of a hierarchy could take twice the time.
