    Edwards Wildman's George Ticknor Comments on the Corporate Debt Market in the Boston Business Journal

    George Ticknor, a Boston-based partner in Edwards Wildman's Business Law Department, discussed recent bond filings among Massachusetts companies in the Boston Business Journal. In the article, "Massachusetts Companies Borrow Big as Bond Markets Tremble," Ticknor said, “Regulators are very concerned about banks doing leveraged loans.” According to Ticknor, the current borrowing spree has been a bit of a double-edged sword in that it’s lowered borrowing costs and freed up cash for other purposes, while at the same time fueling a surge in pricing for buyouts and related merger activity.
