April 15, 2013 – Locke Lord Dallas Partner George E. Bowles was honored as a "Texas Trial Legend" by the Dallas Bar Association, which recognized his more than 30 years of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous courtroom trials. His unique career in business litigation and dispute resolution spans a wide range of clients, from Wall Street investment banks and movie screenwriters to individuals and small companies.

Bowles received his "Texas Trial Legend" award from the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the Dallas Bar Association in a ceremony held at the Belo Mansion in Dallas. A lawyer with Locke Lord and its predecessor firms for 37 years, Bowles is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers serving on the Complex Litigation Committee. He is the immediate past president of the Dallas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is on the Executive Committee of the Board. He served on the National Board of Directors from 2004-2007. Bowles is listed in the Best Lawyers in America and Texas Best Lawyers in the areas of Bet the Company, Business, Construction and Intellectual Property litigation. He has been designated as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly in business litigation since 2003.

Also honored during the Legends Program, which featured a panel discussion led by Judge Mark Greenberg, were James H. "Blackie" Holmes III, Charla Aldous and David Kidder, who earned posthumous recognition.

Bowles' long list of cases includes winning a more than $18 million settlement during trial for a small medical device firm that sued a major pharmaceutical company for fraud and breach of contract, and for prosecuting the rights of an Air Force pilot shot down over Bosnia in a First Amendment and false advertising dispute against a major motion picture studio and a television conglomerate. Bowles' practice in complex business-related litigation also includes securities, lender liability, real estate, banking, fraud, eminent domain, tortious interference with business relations, fiduciary liability, patent infringement and breach of contract.
