    Edwards Wildman's Ralph Loren Comments on ZTE Striking a Licensing Deal with Microsoft in World Intellectual Property Review

    Ralph Loren, an intellectual property partner in Edwards Wildman's Boston office, discussed how Chinese smartphone-maker ZTE has become the 20th company to license Microsoft patents reading on Android technology in World Intellectual Property Review. In the article, "ZTE Strikes Licensing Deal with Microsoft," Loren said that licensing is much more sensible than litigating, an approach that could result in cash-rich smartphone-makers “spending all their lives in court”. Furthermore, “With licensing, you get some value by monetizing your IP,” added Loren.
