John Olsen Offers Sound Advice for Businesses on Thwarting Domain Squatters

    News
John Olsen, an intellectual property partner based in Edwards Wildman’s London office, recently spoke to the media extensively about the risk companies face from domain squatters. In "The Growing Threat of Domain Squatters" Olsen told The Telegraph that prevention is far preferable to back-pedaling once domain squatting has begun. In an article with The Standard, Olsen observed that squatters proliferated with more big brands seeing an increase of online sales. Olsen also noted that companies need to protect against cybersquatting in the face of increasing online sales in an interview with the Times of London. In an article with The Guardian, "Domain name disputes hit record high as brands defend virtual shop doorways", Olsen commented that household name brands are doing all they can to protect their revenue streams.
