Robert Baute, Jr. Elected Chairman of the Board of Inspiring Minds
Edwards Wildman is pleased to announce that Robert Baute, Jr., an associate in the firm's Providence office, has been elected chairman of the board of Inspiring Minds, a non-profit organization that provides tutorial and mentoring services, educational resources and individual attention to students in Providence's public schools. Baute has served on the board for three years. Edwards Wildman participates in Inspiring Minds' Power Lunch Program, through which attorneys and staff in the firm's Providence office visit a local elementary school once a week to read to the students.
Baute practices primarily in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and general corporate law. He has represented a variety of private equity and venture capital funds, public and private companies, and individuals on transactions in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Baute earned his JD from the College of William & Mary, his Master of Public Policy from the College of William & Mary and his BA from Dickinson College. He is admitted to the bar in Rhode Island. In addition, Baute is a member of the audit committee for the City of Cranston, R.I. and the board of incorporators of Kent County Hospital.
