    Edwards Wildman Names Matt McTygue Co-Chair of the Debt Finance and Capital Markets Group

    Edwards Wildman is pleased to announce that Matthew V.P. McTygue has been appointed co-chair of the firm's Debt Finance and Capital Markets Group. He joins James I. Rubens, who is resident in the firm's Boston office, in leading the practice.

    Based in Boston, McTygue has a broad perspective of the group's expertise, as his practice crosses the spectrum of debt finance. He represents private equity and venture capital firms, investors, commercial lenders and private companies in a wide range of business and financing transactions, including senior, mezzanine, subordinated and venture debt financings, restructurings and recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings and general corporate matters. In addition, he serves on the firmwide advisory board, co-chairs the firmwide technology committee and chairs the Boston office diversity committee.

    Active in the community, McTygue has served on the boards of directors and fundraising committees of local non-profit organizations, including Transition House, a nonprofit organization committed to ending domestic violence through education and intervention, the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans and GLAD. McTygue has also served on the Massachusetts Bar Foundation Grant Advisory Committee, the Boston Bar Association High School Summer Jobs Program Committee and the Junior Fellows Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Foundation.

    Edwards Wildman has a large and sophisticated Debt Finance and Capital Markets Practice that has been consistently recognized for excellence by Chambers USA. The firm's attorneys counsel diversified global financial institutions, banks, finance companies, insurance companies, hedge funds and other institutional lenders, including Bank of America, CIT, JPMorgan Chase Bank, TD Bank, RBS Citizens, and Wells Fargo, and represent most of the 10 largest banks in the United States. Edwards Wildman also regularly represents private equity firms in M&A transactions, financings, recapitalizations and restructurings. The firm's lawyers are actively engaged in national and international syndicated credit facilities (mid-cap, large-cap, and investment grade), mezzanine and second lien financings, high-yield and convertible debt, DIP and exit financings, and tax-exempt and asset-based financings of all kinds.
