Edwards Wildman Lawyers Elected to Key Positions in Boston and Providence
Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP is pleased to announce the recent election of two of its lawyers to important positions.
Kathryn A. Piffat, Ph.D., an associate in the firm’s Boston office, was recently re-elected as a vice president of the alumni executive committee at Boston University School of Law. She has served on the committee since 2005 and was elected recording secretary for three terms (2007-2010), as well as vice president for two previous terms (2010-2012). Piffat is a patent attorney whose intellectual property law practice focuses primarily on biotechnology, molecular biology, and biomedical areas, as well as on related fields. She works chiefly in the areas of patent prosecution and pre-litigation for clients in North America, Europe, and Asia.
J. Robert Weisberger Jr., counsel in Providence, was elected to the position of president-elect of the Rhode Island Bar Association at the group’s annual meeting on June 14. Bob is a member of the association’s Executive Committee and House of Delegates. He has chaired the group’s Government Relations Committee and the Annual Meeting Planning Committee, and he has served on several of its standing committees. Bob is a Rhode Island Bar Foundation Fellow and a member of the American Bar Association. For many years, he served as a member of the board of directors and executive committee of McAuley House. He also serves as town moderator for the town of Smithfield.
