A team of Walter St. Onge and Patty DuBois served as bond counsel for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the year's Bond Buyer "Deal of the Year."
Awarded in a ceremony Thursday night, this year's winner was the billion-dollar 2010 Accelerated Bridge Program bond package. The Accelerated Bridge Program authorizes the Commonwealth to issue $3b worth of bonds to fund capital improvements on bridges and related infrastructure on the state.
Following the issuance of the bonds, to help offset the interest cost of the bonds, the Commonwealth received subsidy payments from the federal government under the American Recovery and Reinvestment act of 2009.
