    Legal 500's 2011 US Guide Recognizes EAPD in Three Categories

    Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge has been recognized in the 2011 US edition of the Legal 500 in three categories: Technology: Data Protection and Privacy; Mergers and Acquisitions, Middle Market ($500-999 Million); and Venture Capital and Emerging Companies.

    With respect to the first category, Legal 500 described the practice as a “[knowledgeable and responsive] multi-disciplinary privacy and data protection group [which] includes an on-call breach response team to advise companies on compliance with US and EU legal and regulatory requirements and contractual requirements, and is commended for providing ‘excellent service.’” The practice is headed by Theodore Augustinos in Hartford, [advising] multinational corporates, major retailers, financial institutions and data processing entities on multinational data protection protocols and data breach responses.”

    EAPD has been classified as a second tier firm in the category of Mergers & Acquisitions in the Middle Market ($500-999 Million). The practice is described as “a strong private equity and venture capital practice. David Kovacs joined the practice in New York.” It goes on to say that “Richard Small is a national practitioner worth of recognition.”

    And in the category of Venture Capital and Emerging Companies, the Firm’s practice is described having a “commitment to the emerging companies environment in 2010, by launching its Helping Innovators Thrive programme. It is this focus on the sector that leads clients to describe the firm as ‘excellent’ and ‘outstanding’, with one client awarding it ‘10/10 for expert counsel’. The firm has a particularly strong record in the life sciences and biotechnology environment.”
