Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell Names Brian Cassidy New Managing Partner in Charge of Austin Office

    (AUSTIN) March 1, 2011 – Austin Partner C. Brian Cassidy, recognized for his leadership in transportation and infrastructure issues in Texas, has been named new Managing Partner in the Austin Office of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell.

    Cassidy has been a member of the Locke Lord team for 15 years and represents regional mobility authorities and other public and private entities in the development of toll roads and other transportation and utility infrastructure. He is a well-recognized speaker and writer on infrastructure issues and helped shape major transportation legislation in Texas. Cassidy’s experience in Administrative & Regulatory and Corporate work includes complex procurements, public/private partnerships, state and federal project approvals, project financing, innovative financing options, right-of-way acquisition, intergovernmental agreements, open meetings issues and Public Information Act compliance.

    Cassidy will take over day-to-day operations of the Austin Office from Partner Brad Hawley, who has been Managing Partner since 2001. Hawley will continue his practice in the Austin Office of Locke Lord with his many clients in the Banking, Finance and Real Estate areas and will continue his firmwide role as head of the Real Estate Transactions and Finance Section of the Real Estate and Finance Practice Group.

    Cassidy earned his law degree with honors from The University of Texas School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is Board Certified in Administrative Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He also is a member of the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association, the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Council of Austin, TeamTx (an association of transportation agencies and industry members in Texas), and he is a fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation.
