(ATLANTA) February 18, 2011 – Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell Atlanta Partner Brian T. Casey has been named to the 2011 Insurance Editorial Advisory Board for the well-respected Law360 daily publication. He joins a select group of 12 leading insurance professionals who will provide guidance to Law360 editors as they look to improve and grow the publication’s insurance coverage.

Casey and his Advisory Board colleagues were chosen from a pool of more than 1,000 highly qualified candidates, and Casey is the only corporate regulatory attorney selected, according to Law360 editors. Members of the Advisory Board will offer their thoughts and recommendations during a series of editorial board meetings throughout the year.

Casey’s appointment follows his recent inclusion – for the sixth year – on a national list of the 100 Most Powerful People in the Insurance Industry in North America for 2011. Produced by Insurance Broadcasting, the list identifies the top insurance professionals around the country and names them in more than 20 categories. Casey, Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Corporate Insurance Practice, is the only attorney recognized in the Insurance Law category.

A frequent writer and speaker on regulatory matters and trends that affect the insurance industry, Casey’s most recent article, “Regulating All Life Settlements as Securities: The New Age of the Life Settlement Investment Market,” was published in the Winter 2011 edition of the Journal of Structured Finance. Casey focuses his practice on corporate; mergers and acquisitions, corporate and structured finance and other transactional matters; and multi-state regulatory matters for corporate clients in the insurance, financial services and health care industries. His clients include insurance companies, insurance holding companies, managing general agents and insurance agencies, third party and claims administrators, banks and other financial institutions, investment banks and reinsurance companies. Casey earned his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law and his Master of Laws in Taxation from Emory University Law School.
