spoke at the American Bar Association's 19th Annual Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference, February 21-24, 2018 in Scottsdale, AZ. She spoke at the Cancer Legal Advocacy Workshop on February 21st.
Cancer patients face a variety of legal problems related to their illness, such as issues with insurance coverage and payment, treatment, employment, mental health and end of life arrangements. Volunteer attorneys can work with support organizations to help address challenges like these. This session will review relevant laws and practices to enable attorneys to volunteer and provide legal assistance to cancer patients and survivors, as well as to provide support to family members or friends going through diagnosis and treatment.
The ABA Health Law Section's Conference on Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law covered the most emergent topics facing the healthcare bar. As our industry undergoes changes and continues to develop with healthcare reform and enforcement, this conference presented an incredible opportunity to stay ahead of the trends.
