Locke Lord will provide a concise and timely preview of the 83rd Texas Legislature Regular Session, which convenes January 8 and adjourns May 27. This program will focus on issues essential to understanding or participating in the legislative process, including:

• Fiscal issues, including the budget, school finance and Medicaid
• Major state issues, including water, education and transportation

Gardner Pate (Associate, Austin) Mr. Pate is an associate in Locke Lord’s Public Law section. Mr. Pate represents clients before the legislative and administrative branches of Texas state government, and was named one of the top contract lobbyists in Texas by Capitol Inside in 2011. In addition to lobbying efforts, Mr. Pate maintains an active practice advising clients on campaign finance laws and ethics compliance.
