In partnership with Advocates for Community Transformation (ACT), Locke Lord's Maddie Brunner (Dallas) met with South Dallas community members to hear their concerns and experiences involving significant criminal activity in their neighborhood. After meeting with certain home owners regarding increased oversight and maintenance of their properties, which have a history of criminal activity and code compliance issues, the team negotiated and organized both residential and curbside improvements. As a result of the negotiations, the community members have reported increased efforts by the home owners to secure and properly protect the properties at issue and a significant decrease in suspected criminal activity overall. Additional Locke Lord attorneys working with ACT on a number of other pro bono matters include Dallas' Taylor Levesque. Read more about the Locke Lord and ACT partnership here.
