CHICAGO LITIGATION COUNSEL

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Counsel position with our Financial Services Practice Group. The position will be based in our Chicago office. Ideal candidates should have at least 3 years of prior associate-level or staff counsel experience in financial services or mortgage foreclosure litigation. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills, and an ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed are required; 
  • Knowledge of federal and state court practice, experience preparing answers, motions and other routine filings;
  • Experience representing financial services providers against alleged violations of state statutes, wrongful foreclosure, and as well as issues involving federal laws and regulations covering mortgage lending, servicing, and collection;
  • Significant case management experience;
  • Bankruptcy experience is a plus. 


Essential Functions

Candidates for Counsel positions must be able to provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys. 

Counsel Attorneys are routinely required to:

  • Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis in pleadings, memoranda, and other written documents; 
  • Draft pleadings and other case documents;
  • Attend hearings throughout Illinois; 
  • Manage matters from commencement to final resolution; and
  • Competently and professionally communicate with clients and supervising attorneys.

MIAMI HEALTHCARE LITIGATION COUNSEL

We are seeking a qualified Healthcare Litigation Counsel for a position in our Business Litigation Practice Group. This position will be based in our Miami office. Our ideal candidate has at least four years of significant experience handling healthcare and other complex commercial litigation matters. This Counsel would be expected to take ownership/responsibility of various healthcare litigation and related healthcare regulatory matters.

Essential Functions

Candidates for Counsel positions must be able to provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys.

Counsel Attorneys are routinely required to:

  • Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis of pleadings, memoranda, and other written documents;
  • Draft pleadings and other case documents;
  • Attend hearings throughout the country;
  • Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses and assist with preparations for trial and arbitration hearings;
  • Manage matters from commencement to final resolution;
  • Manage the collection, review and production of ESI, including working with clients, vendors, contact attorneys and colleagues to efficiently complete such discovery projects on time and on budget; and
  • Competently and professionally communicate with clients and supervising attorneys.

The IP Department of Locke Lord is seeking an associate with 4-6 years of experience handling IP litigation and prosecution matters. Our ideal candidate will have a background in biotechnology, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
