Seasoned Attorney Richard Scharlat Becomes Partner in Locke Lord's New York Office

(NEW YORK) October 5, 2010 – Experienced New York and New Jersey attorney Richard I. Scharlat has joined Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell’s Labor and Employment Practice Group as a Partner in the Firm’s New York office. Scharlat has in-depth knowledge of the health care industry and broad experience in complex commercial and employment-related disputes in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey. Scharlat also has significant experience defending class action lawsuits and practicing before arbitration panels.

Scharlat most recently was in-house with Premier B.H., Inc., a California-based health care management company, and was previously a partner with Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Greenberg Traurig LLP in New York and New Jersey for several years. In addition to his concentration on complex litigation, Scharlat also advises companies and executives on several aspects of employment law, including hiring and termination practices, employment agreements, discrimination issues, employee handbooks, executive compensation and age and gender discrimination. Scharlat participates in the American Health Lawyers Association and is a former secretary of the District Ethics Committee (VC) of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
