Two Locke Lord Partners Elected to Firm Executive Committee; New Co Vice-Chair Also Elected

January 12, 2012 – Locke Lord has elected two new Partners to serve on the Firm’s Executive Committee and has elected a new Co Vice-Chair. Chicago Partners Michael Gaertner and David Wirt were elected by a Partner vote to join Locke Lord’s leadership team. In addition, Executive Committee Member Dan Schlessinger, also of Chicago, was elected Co Vice-Chair.

The two new Executive Committee Members bring a high level of commitment and dedication to the team and are experienced practice group leaders. Gaertner, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Business Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group, is a frequent speaker and writer on antitrust and intellectual property issues. Wirt is Chair of Locke Lord’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group and represents a wide range of clients that include corporate debtors, creditor committees, institutional lenders, governmental agencies and others in all aspects of insolvency workouts and litigation. Schlessinger has more than 30 years of experience in business litigation and has served the Firm as former Managing Partner and Chair, during which time he helped elevate its commitment to diversity and pro bono work.

Locke Lord Chair Jerry Clements, who serves as head of the Executive Committee, and Houston Partner Bill Swanstrom, who serves as Co Vice-Chair, were re-elected to their same positions. Also remaining on Locke Lord’s 2012 Executive Committee are Chicago Partner Nick DiGiovanni; Houston Partner David Taylor; and Dallas Partners Janis Loegering and Tom Yoxall.
