May 22, 2012 — Sarah Linton, a leading lawyer in international compensation, benefits and employment law, has joined Locke Lord’s London Office as a Partner, adding breadth, depth and international reach to the Firm’s Labour and Employment Practice. Until joining Locke Lord this week, she headed the UK Compensation, Benefits and Employment Practice at Dewey & LeBoeuf.

Linton brings to Locke Lord a vast network of clients, particularly in the United States, and a wealth of experience in all phases of employment law, including in contracts, termination agreements, disputes, employee representation issues, European and domestic works councils, business immigration law and data protection. She has significant experience coordinating and managing employment projects on a European scale and practices employment litigation as well as corporate support and advisory work. She is experienced in boardroom disputes and the roles and duties of executive and non-executive directors.

Linton has a very active practice in Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE) regulations affecting employers and has written extensively on their implementation throughout the UK. She brings with her to Locke Lord Associate Grace Man, whose areas of practice include corporate support of employment matters, contentious employment and immigration advisory work.

“We are thrilled that Sarah has joined our London team, and her vast employment law focus gives our already strong practice the global presence we’ve been looking for,” said Locke Lord Chair Jerry Clements. “Her international experience and excellent reputation enhance our Labour and Employment Practice and the Firm’s ability to help clients on an international level. Sarah’s addition to our London team adds a new platform for growth for many years to come.”

Linton is a University of Oxford graduate and a member of several UK organisations, including the European Employment Lawyers Association, the Industrial Law Society and the Immigration Law Practitioners Association.

The Firm moved to a much larger London office earlier this year and has gradually increased its UK presence to a team of nearly 30 lawyers with experience in key practice areas and sectors, including banking and finance, restructuring/insolvency, capital markets, corporate M&A, dispute resolution, energy, insurance, real estate, and labour and employment.

Locke Lord LLP consistently ranks among American Lawyer’s top 100 U.S. law firms. The Firm’s full range of practice and industry areas serve international and national clients from offices in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Sacramento, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. It has an excellent reputation in complex litigation, regulatory and transactional work, with its 650-plus lawyers building collaborative relationships and crafting creative solutions – all designed and executed to meet clients’ long-term strategic goals.
