(DALLAS) April 28, 2011 – Don M. Glendenning, Managing Partner of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell’s Dallas Office, this week received the 2011 Justinian Award for his many years of volunteerism and community service in Dallas. He is among a select handful to receive the award, given annually to a Dallas Bar Association member by the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary. In a luncheon Wednesday, surrounded by colleagues, friends and family, Glendenning was recognized for his longstanding efforts to “make the world a better place through his unparalleled commitment to his clients and the Dallas community.”
He is the second Locke Lord Partner to receive the Justinian Award – Dallas Partner Harriet Miers received the honor in 1992.
“I don’t know of anyone who deserves the Justinian Award more than Don,” said Locke Lord Chair Jerry Clements, who attended the luncheon. “His many hours dedicated to making the New Parkland Hospital a reality and to creating a public-private partnership for the Dallas Zoo are remarkable, considering Don has an amazingly busy law practice and is considered one of the leading corporate lawyers in the country. He is a brilliant lawyer, an outstanding human being and a wonderful friend, and we are lucky to have him at Locke Lord.”
Calling him “the epitome of the community-minded professional,” the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary commended Glendenning for a long list of contributions, including lead roles on numerous foundations, boards, philanthropic and humanitarian organizations. Just a few examples of Glendenning’s other honors include: the Anti-Defamation League of Dallas Schoenbrun Jurisprudence Award; the Dallas Zoological Society Good Egg Award; the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas Angel of Freedom and Distinguished Lifetime Service awards; and the Legal Aide of North Texas Pro Bono Award.
