(NEW YORK) November 19, 2010 – Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell Partners Jay Safer and Kevin Walsh contributed chapters to the Third Edition of Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts, a popular legal resource recently published by Thomson West and the New York County Lawyers’ Association (NYCLA). First published in 1995, the book has 145 authors and is considered a valuable resource and reference work among legal circles, garnering more than 50 favorable reviews in bar journals and legal publications throughout New York.
Commercial Litigation’s publishers honored authors of the newest edition and announced the treatise’s publication in a special reception this week at the NYCLA Home of Law in New York. Authors include judges from the New York Court of Appeals, the Appellate Division and the Supreme Court, as well as litigators from around the state, all of whom volunteer their time to contribute to the multi-volume, step-by-step guide to all aspects of commercial law.
Safer handles complex litigation and arbitration in the United States and abroad and represents clients in matters concerning contracts, antitrust, securities, RICO, qui tam, international litigation and arbitration. This week he was a panelist on an LLB&L webinar to address issues of concern to in-house counsel and other attorneys whose clients are presently involved, or potentially involved, in class action litigation and talked about recent developments and emerging issues in class action law and application of class action lessons to other types of litigation.
Walsh is experienced in commercial litigation and arbitration as a member of LLB&L’s Business Litigation team and Reinsurance group. He litigates a wide variety of business disputes, including securities fraud cases, class actions, antitrust and reinsurance litigation and arbitrations and has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts in New York and in arbitrations under the aegis of the American Arbitration Association, the International Chamber of Commerce and before the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague.
