A Locke Lord London team led by James Channo represented Derriston Capital Plc, a shell company that has been formed to invest in the medical technology sector, on its standard listing on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market for listed securities on Dec. 29, 2016. The company raised approximately £2.3 million through a private placement and was oversubscribed. The company, which plans to make acquisitions in the med-tech sector in the next three to six months, is backed by serial British investor Nigel Wray and Stephen Hemsley, the chief executive of UnitedHealth Group Inc. The company is also backed by property investor Warren Todd and Harry Hyman, founder of Primary Health Properties and newly appointed chairman of the company. Philippa Townley and Michael Thompsett (all of London) worked on the transaction.
