
Nadine Lacombe’s practice focuses on diversity-related policy, training and programming. She ensures that nationwide firm policy, designed specifically to address Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell’s diversity goals, is legally sound. In addition to diversity, her practice areas include immigration, federal and state employment and employee benefits law among others. As liaison to every firm committee and practice group, Ms. Lacombe also makes certain that all policies and practices maintain diversity as an integral component. Her primary focus is advising the firm on implementation and development of practices which will increase the recruitment and retention of attorneys of color and bisexual, female, gay, lesbian and transgender attorneys. She is a frequent speaker on issues relating to workplace diversity and serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee.
Prior to joining Locke Lord, Ms. Lacombe was a Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) Office of Business and Workforce Diversity. In overseeing and developing policy for IDOT’s Civil Rights and Small Business Enterprise Bureaus, her practice encompassed employment/civil rights related counsel and training, developing the agency’s Diversity Council, and ensuring that federal requirements were met in establishing and enforcing Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals. She also has extensive trial experience as a former Assistant State’s Attorney in the Public Interest and Civil Actions Bureaus of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, having acted as Trial Specialist and Deputy Supervisor.
