Locke Lord Partner Kevin Peter New Chairman of M&A Section of Houston Bar Association

As a member of the Firm's Corporate and Energy Practice groups, Peter’s experience includes public and private, strategic and financial transactions. Much of his practice is focused in the energy industry, particularly oilfield services, energy technologies and upstream and midstream assets. His practice also includes representing private equity and mezzanine debt funds in their investment transactions, as well as target companies and management groups in negotiating acquisition and financing transactions with private equity investors and lenders.

Peter earned his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, at the University of Houston Law Center and his B.B.A., Cum Laude, at Texas A&M University.

The HBA’s Mergers and Acquisitions Section focuses on the role played by lawyers in negotiating and documenting business acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and related transactions. While serving as Chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions Section, Peter will lead a 12 member council and provide leadership among a group of lawyers as well as other business professionals involved in transactions such as accountants, investors, and bankers.
