
Matthew Blackburn is a partner at Locke Lord LLP. His practice is focused on providing service to the medical products industry regarding all aspects of intellectual property (litigation representation, client counseling, patent procurement).
Mr. Blackburn has served as a lead attorney and trial counsel in patent infringement cases, counseled clients concerning intellectual property portfolio development and rendered opinions on validity, infringement and freedom to use on a wide array of technologies, including vascular grafts, stent-grafts, endovascular delivery systems, catheters, pharmaceuticals, and more. His procurement experience before the USPTO involves ex parte prosecution, reexamination and reissue proceedings, and patent interferences, including numerous successful appeals to the BPAI.
